🦋 Lingua

My father's language
is my mother tongue
and the tongues of those around me
are not my own
nor their teeth

my mouth it moves
and forms the words
the moving pen has left behind
nor all your Piety and Wit
too late to say

The heart hears what it needs
and beats to the cadence of light and hope
that it always knew and loved
motes and notes and closely held
realms lift us to a level to speak

La corazón escucha lo que busca
pulsa a la cadencia de luz y espera
lo que siempre ha conocido y quería
motes y notas y mundos
preciosos que a nosotros
elevan a donde podemos hablar.
