I run into trouble when I try to talk about ideas. It's easy for me to say "Cincinnatus is a romantic", or "Nabokov is a dualist"; but then I have trouble going anywhere with it. I've been exposed to a very broad range of ideas in my time, but with very little depth.

I need to fall back and regroup; read some kinda History of Western Philosophy, and figure out what terms like "romantic" and "dualist" really mean, and what they imply.
