So at my sister's wedding this summer I was talking with my uncle Bruce and I mentioned the GRGR to him. Well, he thought that was great and explained to the other people we were with, (paraphrased) "Gravity's Rainbow is this Great Big Book that is difficult to read; Jeremy is one of the only people I know who does not work for a literature department that has read it." Well, I was feeling pleasantly flattered now; my uncle went on to say that at the end of the book, "You're sitting in an old run-down movie theater in Valencia owned by Richard Nixon, and the V-2 rocket is headed toward you."

I haven't been able to keep my head above water while reading Part 4 of GR, "The Counterforce", enough to know what is happening plotwise; so what he was saying was as informative to me as to the other people present. Still it was nice to be considered "in the know."

So anyways, I'll be keeping that hint in mind as I read, this time.
